And can you swim in those holes?Octohawkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11708336578067787571noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7404978790747716361.post-48698948559769114292010-08-15T18:46:36.832-04:002010-08-15T18:46:36.832-04:00Just stumbled upon your blog. And I love it! I have a policy against collecting wild orchids, even for identification purposes, and it would have been illegal to collect it anyway as we were on State lands.

My id attempt resulted in it either being odontopetala or odorata, and I remembered from years-before sightings that the former is quite large and robust whereas the Chazz specimens are gracile and short. Any assistance in identifying them in the wild would be greatly appreciated from someone of your experience.

Thanks for your comment.Buford Naturehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14657555328626398940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7404978790747716361.post-42534061465896651892010-08-15T15:38:41.859-04:002010-08-15T15:38:41.859-04:00The most common Habenaria in this area would be H....The most common Habenaria in this area would be H. odontopetala, which is likely what you saw.

---Prem
The Florida Native Orchid BlogPremhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09720547317948102261noreply@blogger.com
